Computers and Internet

Patrons of the Roselle Public Library may use the Library’s computers or bring their own laptops, tablets and electronic devices. There is no charge for using the library computers; however, during periods of high demand, time limits on library computers will be enforced.

Faxing and Printing

The library offers outgoing fax service. The library cannot receive incoming faxes on behalf of patrons.

The fees for sending are:

  • First page, $2.00

  • Additional pages, $1.00

Printing is available from library computers. Printing is not available from personal laptops, phones and tablets.

There is a photocopy machine available for public use. The copy machine produces letter and legal size documents in black and white or color.

Printing and photocopying fees are as follows:

  • Computer print out, B&W $.25/page

  • Computer print out, Color $.35/page

  • Photocopy, B&W  $.10/page

  • Photocopy, Color $.25/page

  • Photocopy, Legal size $.20/page

Wifi Access

For people with their own laptops and electronic devices,  The Roselle Public Library provides free Internet access throughout the library during operating hours.  Printing is not available from personal devices via Wi-Fi.

Wireless access is insecure in that information that is sent or received via wireless network could potentially be intercepted by other wireless users.  The Roselle Public Library’s wireless network is not secure.  Patrons are advised not to transfer credit card, passwords or any other sensitive information via the Library’s wireless Internet.  If patrons choose to transfer such information, they do so at their own risk.

The Library assumes no safety for the equipment and users are encouraged to keep equipment with them at all times.

The Library assumed no responsibility for configurations or security changes that may occur when connecting to the Library's Wi-Fi.

Cards

Residents seeking a Roselle ID Card must prove identity and residency. Please call 908-245-5809 or click here to email us with any questions and to make an appointment. The library administers this program for the Borough of Roselle.

Notary Service

The Roselle Public Library provides Notary Service, by appointment only, for the convenience of the community. Those seeking Notary Services are advised of the following:

  • Patrons seeking Notary Service call the Library to make an appointment prior to their visit.

  • The Library can be reached by calling (908) 245-5809.

  • There is a $1.00 charge per notary signature.

  • Valid photo identification is required of any customer seeking Notary Service.

  • The Library will not provide witnesses, and witnesses may not be solicited from patrons using the Library. In order to serve as a witness, the witness must personally know the person whose document is being notarized and must be in possession of valid photo identification.

  • Documents in any language other than English will not be notarized at this facility.

  • New Jersey law requires that a Notary and the customer seeking notarization be able to communicate directly with each other. Library Notaries are not permitted to make use of a translator to communicate with a Notary Service customer.

  • Notary Service is not available for Deeds, Wills, Living Wills, Living Trusts, Codicils, Depositions, Mortgages or other Real Estate Closing documents.

  • Certain public documents cannot be copied and notarized. Examples of these are birth certificates, death certificates and marriage certificates.

  • In accordance with New Jersey Notarial Law, Notaries will not provide service if the customer, document or circumstances of the request for Notary Service raise any issue of authenticity, ambiguity, doubt or uncertainty for the Library. In this event, the Library Notary may, at his sole discretion, decline to provide Notary Service.

Passports

The Roselle Public Library provides passport services by appointment only.

Please call the library during business hours (908-245-5809) to make a passport appointment.

The acceptance of a passport application can be time-consuming.  Please plan ahead so that you have time to complete the process.

We accept the passport applications, but have no control over the actual processing.  Processing time may fluctuate according to workload in the US Passport processing offices.  If you need a fast turn around, we recommend paying to expedite the application.

​

Passport fees are $35/per person processing plus $130.00 passport cost for adults and $100.00 for children under 16.
